Unfortunately, optimizing a webiste for Google may “unoptimize” it for Yahoo, Bing, AllTheWeb, etc. But the bottom line remains the same: don’t depend on one search engine to help customers find you. Try to make your site appealing or high ranking to all search engines or at least all popular search engines. This situation is precisely why companies should NOT put all their sites with just one search engine, i.e. Google. Unfortunately, optimizing a webiste for Google may “unoptimize” it for Yahoo, Bing, AllTheWeb, etc.
But the bottom line remains the same: don’t depend on one search engine to help customers find you. Try to make your site appealing or high ranking to all search engines or at least all popular search engines.

If Google was overtaken overnight by another search engine and our company doesn't appear in the alternative in the top SERPS we will suffer like many others.
