Yes! It’s been an absolutely beautiful Earth Day in Austin, Texas. Sun is shining, birds are singing, and our city’s wonderful people have been doing their part to clean up and beautify the Live Music Capital.

Operation: Clean Up Lady Bird Lake!

Operation: Clean Up Lady Bird Lake!

A couple of us from WhoLinksToMe.com were lucky enough to spend a couple hours this morning with Austin’s division of the National Wildlife Federation. We met up with Andrea Dravigne and her team of eco-friendly aids down by Lady Bird Lake and got right to it with trash and recycling bags, picking up whatever we could see along the city’s ever-important riverbanks. We were pulling plastic bags off tree branches and grabbing old cups from out of the water.

Look at all that trash!

Look at all that trash!

If you get some time today, make an effort to get out and do Mother Nature a favor. It’s really amazing how much trash accumulates in places like riverbanks and streets, but we can all do our part to make our communities healthier and more beautiful.

Enjoy the photos!
