I wish Google or Magicjack would give an estimated date for Number Portability. I want to invest in an Ooma but don't want to pay $40 to port my number to it when I really want my number to run through Google Voice with all its features. Wife wants to keep home number so we pay premium to verizon to keep the traditional landline. I know my luck. Port number for $40 on 12/1 and then Google voice allows it on 12/15. At least if Magicjack allowed porting, I could port it and forward it to Google Voice and get all of google voices features.

I don't know where you get the idea that Google has Number Portability. Either you know something the rest of us don't, or you don't understand what Number Portability means. This feature, sadly, is not available. Many of us would have been all over it.
