Yahoo! Closes Shop on Publisher Network beta
For the past five years, Yahoo! has tried to keep pace with Google’s adSense program through Yahoo! Publisher Network. The beta network, based on a pay per click contextual advertising plan, had struggled to switch over to a full-pro model, but it looks like it may never get the chance. Users were notified today that Yahoo! plans to shut down the network in a letter. They’ll pull the curtain on April 30.

Google’s New Linkspam Algorithm
In Google’s never-ending quest for developing a foolproof organic search algorithm, one of the search engine’s biggest kryptonites has always been linkspammers loading ranked pages up with unnatural links to sites that either don’t serve any purpose or are in bad web neighborhoods. Obviously Google has worked hard to prevent it, but the web’s a big place, and there’s only so much you can do.
